Sandhill Crane Murals and Art

Sandhill Crane Art Mural (8’ x 5’)
Sandhill cranes make great subjects for bird murals. These stately birds are so beautiful if you ever get to see them in person. I remember my first time coming down a road just out of Fort Myers in the center of the state. I had never seen them before and was amazed at how they let me stop my car, get out and walk pretty close to them to take photos. Sandhill
cranes take on their rusty color at different times of the year as they eat things in the soil. Sometimes they travel to shores that have red colored dirt and the color is taken into their feathers. Other times of the year they eat differently and their feathers are mostly gray. |

I had to figure out how to put some artwork in a house that had two side walls by their back sliding glass doors out to the lanai that measured 14 feet high by 3 feet wide. I told my clients that if they would let me paint on canvas and sew fabric at the top and bottom of the paintings, I could suspend them like tapestry. When I delivered the pieces
and hung the rods, they were so impressed by the way they just fit in the area. I think this time, though, I was the one the most happy with the way things turned out. I think there couldn’t be any better choice for this area by the doors. |

This is another tapestry type mural that has fabric sewn at the top and bottom to be suspended from a rod. There are two sandhill cranes and a Golden Crested African Grey Crane on the left hand side. This African Crane is fantastic to see in person. I have been to South Africa on safari, but did not see
one there. I saw
two beautiful ones walking on the grounds of the Hyatt on the Big Island in Hawaii. The golden feathers look almost to be made of real gold metal as they walk in the sunlight. Gorgeous!
